Basel – Europa Park (Rust) – Colmar – Rhine Falls – Smilestones

Arrive at Basel in Switzerland. Check in to your hotel. Start the day by visiting one of the many museums that Basel has to offer. Make your own paper in the Paper Museum (closed on Mondays) or get overwhelmed by the variety of dolls and Teddy Bears of the Toy World Museum (closed on Mondays). Get to know the city from the water by doing a short trinational river cruise on the Rhine. Continue your journey by visiting the Basel Zoo, which has over 600 species of animals. Overnight in Basel. Today you leave to experience the Europa-Park located in Rust, in south-western Germany,between Freiburg and Strasbourg. Europa-Park is a theme park and the largest in Germany, and the second most popular theme park resort in Europe, following Disneyland Paris. Bus departs from Basel Badischer Bahnhof station at 0745 hrs in the morning and reaches at the park at 0900 hrs. You spend the day in the park and go back by the bus at 1730 hrs. You will reach Basel at 1845 hrs at Basel Badischer Bahnhof station. Overnight in Basel.
Breakfast in the hotel. Take 1.5 hrs scenic bus ride to Colmar, a town in Grand Est region of northeastern France, near the border with Germany. The old town has cobblestone streets lined with half-timbered medieval and early Renaissance buildings. Once arrived at Colmar,locate the Little White Train in front of the library, nearby the Unterlinden Museum (Adult cost @ EUR 7 and to be paid directly to the driver). The Little White Train will make you discover old Colmar in an original and playful way! The 7 km circuit approximately is commented in 16 languages and lasts approximately 40 min. The Little White Train circulates from 9 am till 6 pm from April to the end of September, from 10 am till 5 pm in March, October and November. Return to Basel in the evening. Overnight in Basel.
This morning take train to Neuhausen, and further connect to a short bus ride in order to arrive at Rhine Falls. The Rhine Falls is only 23 meters high but has an impressive width of 150 meters, and an average of 25000 cubic feet of water per second (700m3/sec) plunge over the falls in summer. Experience boat ride to have a closer look of Rhine Falls. Later visit Smilestones located close to the Rhine Falls. Smilestones is Switzerland's biggest indoor miniature world and is being built on an area covering seven tennis courts. Visit the miniature world and uncover the many surprises that it has in store for you. Return to Basel in the evening. Overnight in Basel. (Swiss Travel Pass Flex - Day 2)
